For those of you who have seen the odd time stamp by Google in their SERPs, I have found a way for them to be permanetley displayed
For those of you who don’t know, the time stamp only appears when you actually click on a result (as in, Google keeps a record of the time you clicked on the results) and looks like this:

As you can see, the results I have visited have a time stamp next to them. Now the way to make this display is very simple, type in your search query followed by a %… That’s it! no playing around with the URL or anything just a simple % at the end of the search query.
BTW - I haven’t found a way to turn it off yet apart from clearing your cookies.

With all the press recently of companies having to move online or die you begin to wonder how much of the ‘physical’ world is going to be left. Will you be able to stroll into town on a Sunday morning or will you have to surf down to a virtual store to do your shopping?
With more and more companies loosing out on profit due to being outdone by online stores, it’s looking more and more likely with the likes of HMV and Woolworths losing a massive share of sales. I wonder how long it will be before Walmart start getting into Second Life? And with mobile phones becoming more powerful and finding ever more uses, how long before we can SMS for our shopping?
The future of physical shops is going to be quite bumpy for a fair few industries but as long as the pubs stay physical I’m fine

Today someone from my work informed me about some rather strange MSN is doing. When you go to MSN.co.uk (yes .co.uk, not .com) you will come to the MSN home page with all the usual ‘noise’ on it. However you’ll notice straight away what’s in the search box.

I have never searched for this nor have I done any searches similar to this. Could this be a new CPC style system? have the BBC paid a few £££s to make this happen? or does MSN think this is a useful search to the majority of the searchers?

It’s my Birthday! woohoo! Today I’m the grand age of 20 at long last. So that means I can do everything in the UK but drive HGV’s and I’m still not old enough to drink in America
If your going to SEO days today, prehaps you could get me a birthday pint?

Someone from Yahoo is coming to SEO days to talk about the new Panama system
as confirmed here and here.
It’s amazing how quickly everything has been organised for this event and I’m sure it’ll be a great experience too

As you may already know, SEO Days is the new conference headed by David Naylor (AKA. DaveN) Greg Boser (AKA. WebGuerrilla and Jennifer Slegg (AKA. Jenstar). The conference is being held in London at the Hilton Hotel. They have guest speakers from a number of great places too.
It’s going to be a great event, and if you don’t have a ticket, get one now.
PS. I’m going too
see you there
