There have been many rumors regarding Google creating an OS or even it’s own PC, we can see that Google is taken the fight to Microsoft with an online office type applications, but what about a web broswer? Google is the face of the internet, not doubt about it, but what about viewing the face of the internet? Google currently have no application to allow this, instead they have a very close relationship with Mozilla’s Firefox.
Now what is interesting is how Google have created a web browser within a web browser. As a few people have noticed (Warning: This thread is pure noise, you have been warned!), the Google SERP’s layout has changed, for the better? I think so.
Lets compare some of the key elements between the new look and a web browser.
The first part to look at is the file, edit, etc buttons. We all know what they do and have handy options to help us to things while on the web.

Now lets look at Google’s version:

look kinda familiar? there both in the top left hand side, they both have options that help you on the web.
Not convinced? coincidence? lets look at another example

The X, the close button, when your done with the program, you click it, it goes away. Let’s look at Google’s version

The sign ou button, does a very similar thing but doesn’t close the program, instead it closes the ‘face of the internet’.
And the last example I have, the most used part of any browser, the address bar.

Now lets compare it to the most used part of the SERP

The search bar, both of these allow you to go where you want and find what you need.
So there you have it, the Google SERPs are a web browser within a web browser
